FORCE Fondation Recherche sur le Cancer de l’Enfant a été créée le 14 mai 1992 à Lausanne sous l’impulsion du Dr Daniel Beck, pédiatre hémato-oncologue auprès du Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Vaudois (CHUV) et de la Ligue Vaudoise contre le Cancer. Reconnue d’utilité publique, la Fondation soutient exclusivement la recherche et la formation en oncologie pédiatrique. Différent de celui des adultes, le cancer chez l’enfant nécessite une approche spécifique dans l’étude de son origine et des mécanismes par lesquels il se développe, ainsi que de nouvelles stratégies thérapeutiques. Depuis sa création, FORCE a contribué de façon significative à l’activité de recherche sur les plans suisse et international. Notre Fondation a ainsi investi plus de CHF 7 millions dans le soutien à des projets de haute qualité. Les résultats des recherches soutenues par FORCE ont fait l’objet de publications dans des revues scientifiques à politique éditoriale reconnues internationalement.
