Foremost UAS Range is an unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) testing and research facility near the village of Foremost in southern Alberta, Canada. It supports organizations developing and testing remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS), including work to build beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) capabilities, test new aircraft and systems, and gain operational experience. Its Class F restricted airspace and allowance for extensive vertical flight provide a setting for a wide range of UAS activities.
The range offers aviation infrastructure including a 3,000-by-75-foot paved runway, adjoining apron and hangar, an airspace command and control centre, and a remote operations centre. It also provides airworthiness support to help organizations assemble evidence that their RPAS and operations are ready for intended missions. Through projects such as Project SkySensus and initiatives supporting small and medium-sized enterprises preparing for BVLOS operations, Foremost contributes to advancing drone capabilities. The facility serves companies and organizations seeking to develop, demonstrate, or validate RPAS systems and procedures in a dedicated testing environment.
