Forestar

Forestar is a Japanese support organization operated by the General Incorporated Association Forestar, based in Sumiyoshi, Osaka. Its mission is to help people with disabilities build independent lives, prepare for employment, and continue working with confidence. The organization coordinates three services to support people across different stages: Crosspeace provides independent living training and helps participants establish a foundation for daily life; Forestar offers employment transition support, including development of knowledge and skills needed to seek work with general companies; and Starpeace provides employment retention support to help people address challenges and remain in their jobs over the long term.

Support is tailored to individual goals and may continue for up to seven and a half years, depending on each person’s circumstances. Participants can consider a four-year course focused on building daily routines and exploring future plans, or a two-year course for those aiming to work within that period. Forestar also offers information and support for companies considering disability employment, including examples of employment and guidance related to workplace support.
