About Forest of Bowland National Landscape
Forest of Bowland is a renowned partnership organization that brings together local authorities, national environmental agencies, and representatives from landowning and recreation interest groups. This collaboration ensures the conservation and enhancement of the magnificent Forest of Bowland. The organization operates through the Forest of Bowland AONB Joint Advisory Committee (JAC).
Led by a dedicated team of staff employed through Lancashire County Council, the AONB Partnership coordinates and delivers various projects and activities in line with the AONB Management Plan. This five-year plan provides a vital policy framework and a roadmap for their work from April 2019 to March 2024. Visitors to the Forest of Bowland can explore its stunning landscapes, diverse wildlife, rich cultural heritage, and engage in various activities such as walking, cycling, fishing, and stargazing.
