Australian Forests & Climate Alliance (AFCA) is an Australian advocacy organisation focused on protecting native forests and addressing the climate and biodiversity impacts of logging and clearing. It promotes the preservation and recovery of intact forests, highlighting their role as carbon stores, water catchments and essential wildlife habitat. AFCA argues that industrial logging damages forest soils, disrupts water cycles, reduces carbon storage and threatens species that depend on mature trees, hollows and undergrowth.
The alliance campaigns to end native forest logging and clearing, and opposes the use of native forest biomass as fuel or electricity generation. Its work includes challenging claims that logging is sustainable or that burning forest biomass is carbon neutral, and advocating for stronger forest protection policies. The website provides information on threats and impacts, forest science, forests and fire, water, wildlife, carbon and climate change, as well as state-by-state resources and publications. AFCA also offers membership and networking opportunities, invites people to join its alliance, and accepts donations to support its advocacy.
