Forge Academy of Self Defense & BJJ

Forge Academy of Self Defense is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and self-defense club located at 539 Main Street in Oakbank, Manitoba. The academy teaches students of different ages and experience levels, emphasizing practical techniques, strong fundamentals, and an accessible learning process. Its adult classes welcome men and women, including beginners with no previous martial arts experience. Training can support cardiovascular fitness, core strength, stability, and balance, while helping students develop confidence and skills for managing challenging situations. Students may also work toward belt advancement and take part in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournaments.

Forge offers children’s classes for a range of ages, from beginners to advanced students, in a safe, child-friendly setting. Lessons introduce BJJ basics while encouraging fitness, confidence, and self-defense awareness. Children can progress through belt levels and may participate in competitions. Additional youth offerings include evening classes, summer camps, birthday parties, and the Shark Tank before- and after-school Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program, presented as an alternative to traditional daycare.
