FS Team Tallinn is an interdisciplinary engineering and education project that began in 2006 with the goal of designing, building, and competing with formula-style race cars in the global Formula Student series. What started as a student initiative has grown into Estonia’s leading student engineering team — and a world-class educational platform that shapes the engineers, innovators, and leaders of tomorrow. Each year, more than 100 students from Tallinn University of Technology and the Tallinn University of Applied Sciences, come together to develop a fully functional race car from the ground up. Our mission goes beyond racing: we are developing future talent, strengthening Estonia’s engineering capabilities, and making technology education more engaging and practical. FS Team Tallinn mirrors the structure and ambition of a real-world tech company. Students take on full ownership of engineering, manufacturing, marketing, logistics, and sponsor relations. It is a place to make decisions, take responsibility, learn from failure, and grow through hands-on experience. Here, students learn to lead, collaborate across disciplines, and deliver results under pressure. About FS Team Tallinn
Formula Student Team Tallinn is a brand that participates in the Formula Student competition, aimed at engineering and automotive technology students. Inspired by the Formula SAE series in the United States, our team designs, builds, and presents a single-seat formula car prototype for amateur weekend racing. Throughout the year, we follow a timeline that includes recruiting new members, designing new concepts and vehicle designs, producing physical car parts, assembling the car, and testing and improving the vehicle before competitions.
Speaking of competitions, we participate in various events such as Formula SAE Italy, Formula Student Austria, Formula Student East, Formula Student Germany, and Formula Student Alpe Adria. During these competitions, the jury judges our car and sales plan based on construction, cost planning, and sales presentation. Additionally, we participate in dynamic events like endurance, efficiency, autocross, skidpad, and acceleration, as well as static events like engineering design, cost & manufacturing, and business plan presentation.
