About ForUM
ForUM, which stands for Forum for Utvikling og Miljø (Forum for Development and Environment), was established in 1993 to monitor the follow-up of the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development, also known as the Rio Conference (UNCED) in 1992. Its roots trace back to 1988 when the Joint Campaign for the Earth's Environment and Development was created to promote broad public engagement for sustainable development. Over 100 Norwegian organizations came together under the Joint Campaign to work towards and during the Rio Conference.
ForUM's main focus lies in advocating for sustainable development. ForUM offers a range of resources and services, including workshops, meetings, and publications, aimed at fostering dialogue and collaboration on sustainable development issues. They also provide a platform for member organizations to connect, share knowledge, and work together towards a more sustainable future.
