Users can create and customize a forum in a few clicks, choose from six forum software versions—including AwesomeBB, ModernBB, phpBB2, phpBB3, punBB and Invision—and personalize its appearance with thousands of free themes. Forums support unlimited members and messages, with tools such as subforums, a chatbox, gallery, portal, calendar and role-playing features.

Additional options include classified ads, keyword tags, user approvals, automated data backups, HTTPS security, push notifications, newsletters featuring popular content and Discord alerts for new topics and posts. Forumgratuit also offers a forum directory where visitors can discover communities across interests ranging from culture and technology to sports, games and animals. A support forum provides community advice and guidance for customizing forums, while the service highlights reliable hosting, domain names with personalized email addresses and regular backups.
