The Forum for Collaborative Research is a public-private partnership and part of the UC Berkeley School of Public Health. For more than 20 years, it has brought diverse stakeholders together to address emerging regulatory science and policy challenges and to catalyze clinical research that can improve global health. Its work centers on collaborative forums, working groups, public meetings, and projects that support discussion and progress in drug and diagnostic development.
The Forum’s programs cover HIV prevention, treatment and cure; hepatitis B, hepatitis C and hepatitis D; liver diseases; rare diseases; ocular diseases; and transcatheter aortic valve implantation. Current and completed initiatives include research on COVID-19 therapeutics, clinical trial recommendations, disease registries, and data analysis. The organization also shares publications, reports, news, interviews, and educational resources, and hosts courses focused on drug development, public health policy, and infectious disease diagnostics. Through its meetings and research activities, the Forum provides a setting for researchers, regulators, industry, patients, and other participants to exchange perspectives and develop practical, evidence-informed recommendations.
