About Fotoconnexió
Fotoconnexio is a non-profit cultural association based in Barcelona, founded on October 6, 2011, by a diverse group of photographers, archivists, historians, collectors, and researchers who share a passion for photography and audiovisual studies. The organization is dedicated to the study, promotion, preservation, and dissemination of photography in all its forms. Among its notable projects are El Daguerre de Sants, a tribute to local heritage, and the Francesc Boix photographic archive.
Fotoconnexio also manages the Clifford directory, an online resource listing photographers active in Spain between 1839 and 1900. The association hosts various activities including workshops, conferences, and guided visits, aimed at fostering community engagement and learning. Additionally, they celebrate significant milestones in photography, such as the annual 39/11 Festival, commemorating the first photograph taken in Barcelona in 1839.
