FoU Nordost är en forsknings- och utvecklingsenhet som ägs av sex av Stockholms nordostkommuner och Region Stockholm. Genom praktiknära forsknings- och utvecklingsinsatser utgör FoU Nordost en resurs för utveckling och utvärdering inom socialtjänsten och närliggande hälso- och sjukvård. Deltagande kommuner är Danderyd, Lidingö, Norrtälje, Täby, Vaxholm och Österåker. Vi arbetar mot Socialtjänstens samtliga verksamhetsområden: individ- och familjeomsorg, funktionsnedsättningsomsorg och äldreomsorg. På FoU Nordost arbetar forskningsledare och processledare samt verksamhetschef och kommunikatör. Vi erbjuder olika former av stöd inom exempelvis implementering, kartläggning, processledning, systematisk uppföljning, utvecklingsprojekt och utvärdering. FoU Nordosts verksamhet leds av en styrgrupp bestående av förvaltningschefer från deltagande kommuner och en representant för Region Stockholm. Huvudman för verksamheten är Danderyds kommun. FoU Nordost finansieras av ägarorganisationerna och enhetens tre organisatoriska inriktningar; individ- och familjeomsorg, funktionsnedsättning och äldre, har olika budgetförutsättningar. Utöver grundfinansiering kan FoU Nordost även söka medel vid utlysningar från statliga myndigheter och andra externa finansiärer för exempelvis projekt eller metodutveckling.
