About FOUR PAWS
FOUR PAWS Bulgaria is the local presence of FOUR PAWS, a global, independent animal welfare organisation and advocate for animals whose lives depend directly on people. Its vision is a world where animals are free from suffering and treated with respect and understanding. The organisation works across a broad range of animal welfare issues, including abuse prevention, homeless animals, companion animals, farmed animals, wildlife and support for animals in emergencies.
Its activities include campaigns and partnerships to improve care for stray animals, such as sterilisation initiatives, and efforts to help people report animal cruelty. FOUR PAWS Bulgaria also shares practical guidance for pet owners and information about responsible care and adoption. Through its “Animals Help People” programme, it develops activities involving therapy dogs for children and adults. Its work also encompasses wildlife protection and projects connected with the Belitsa Bear Park.
