Bristol, Rhode Island, renowned as "America's Most Patriotic Town," is celebrated for its historic and vibrant Fourth of July festivities, the oldest continuous celebration in the United States. This charming waterfront community boasts a rich history dating back to its founding in 1680 and features a picturesque town center listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The highlight of Bristol's annual celebrations begins on Flag Day, June 14, and culminates on July 4 with the spectacular Military, Civic, and Firemen’s Parade, which attracts over 200,000 spectators.
In addition to the grand parade, the Bristol Fourth of July Committee organizes a variety of events including outdoor concerts, the Orange Crate Derby, and community engagements like the Fourth of July Ball and Patriotic Exercises. The committee encourages both residents and visitors to participate through volunteer opportunities and membership applications. For those eager to contribute, donations help sustain the traditions and spirit of this cherished celebration, uniting the community and honoring its historical significance
