Foz Tua is a family wine brand rooted in Portugal’s Alto Douro, where the Tua River meets the Douro. Founded by João Fernandes and his family after years of exploring the region and its winemaking traditions, the project grew from a personal passion into a winery based on a property acquired in 2014. The estate covers around four hectares and overlooks the Tua Dam, with a distinctive terroir that informs its wines. At the Foz Tua winery, near the historic Tua railway station, the brand produces singular DOC Douro wines, combining local character with craftsmanship and tradition.
Its range includes red and white wines, such as Ponto Falso, Costureiro Special Edition, FozTua Branco Reserva and DouTua Branco, as well as tawny and white wines aged for over 40 years. The portfolio also features a Very Very Old Tawny and Very Very Old White, both described as over 80 years old.
