FPAN

FPAN is an environmental organization in Armenia that brings people together to protect nature and support sustainable community development. Its work combines conservation, education, volunteering, and opportunities for sustainable livelihoods, with a focus on collaboration with local communities.

The organization’s programs address the protection of Armenia’s mountain rivers, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable management of natural resources. FPAN also supports organic agriculture by helping producers pursue environmentally responsible farming, and promotes rural tourism through green guesthouses, local hospitality, and sustainable tourism opportunities. Earlier initiatives have included work focused on Lake Sevan and raising young people’s environmental awareness.

FPAN offers educational activities and practical training for community members, including sessions on preventing human–wildlife conflict and using natural resources sustainably. People can participate through volunteering or apply for membership, while supporters can contact the organization about donations. Through these programs and opportunities, FPAN aims to connect environmental protection with stronger, more sustainable communities across Armenia. Its current projects include work in Gegharkunik and Vayots Dzor, engaging residents in conservation and environmental education.
