About Fpid
The Foundation for Primary Immunodeficiency Diseases (FPID) is dedicated to supporting individuals with primary immunodeficiency (PID) worldwide. With over 10 million children and adults affected globally, including more than a million in India and half a million in the United States, FPID plays a crucial role in education, early diagnosis, genetic counseling, therapy, and research for PID. PID refers to inherited immune system disorders that make patients vulnerable to severe infections, autoimmune diseases, and cancer.
Tragically, a significant number of individuals remain undiagnosed, leading to unnecessary suffering and mortality. FPID aims to change this by raising awareness among the general population and healthcare providers about PID warning signs and the importance of early detection and treatment. Notably, FPID organizes various events and activities to further its mission.
Among them is the highly-anticipated Annual Black-Tie Gala, featuring a banquet and entertainment fundraiser, where attendees can support the cause while enjoying performances by renowned artists. FPID also recognizes the outstanding contributions of individuals in the field of immunology. The Thomas A.
Waldmann Memorial Award for Excellence in Human Immunology honors the late Dr. Waldmann, while the William E. Paul Memorial Award celebrates the achievements of Dr.
Paul. To expand its reach, FPID has established centers in India and continues to support initiatives in both the U. S.
By making a donation to FPID, you can contribute to the effort in improving the lives of those affected by PID. Join FPID in its mission to educate, diagnose, and treat primary immunodeficiency diseases, ultimately preventing complications and loss of lives
