About Fpjjb
The Federação Portuguesa de Jiu-Jitsu Brasileiro (FPJJB) is Portugal’s federation for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, supporting athletes, coaches and academies and coordinating official activity in the sport. Its website provides information on athlete and team affiliation, including the associated sports insurance, required documentation and frequently asked questions. Members can consult competition rules, belt-grading guidance, uniform requirements and weight tables, as well as find academies by region and information about teachers and black-belt qualifications.
The FPJJB publishes official competition calendars and results, and offers coach education, including Grade I and Grade II trainer courses and continuing professional-development courses. The federation also shares notices about membership and insurance requirements, including the need for athletes to provide a Portuguese tax identification number (NIF) for insurance reporting. Membership fees were updated to 50 euros from 23 December 2024, reflecting increased insurance costs. Through its programs and resources, the FPJJB promotes participation in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and highlights benefits such as fitness, concentration, confidence, self-defence and cooperation.
