The Frances Perkins Center, founded in 2009, is dedicated to honoring the extraordinary legacy of Frances Perkins. Perkins believed in the principle that government should provide its people with the best possible life. The Center fulfills its mission by sharing her commitment and promoting the place that shaped her character.
Through exhibition programs, Perkins Family Homestead tours, public lectures, educational outreach programs, and study internships, the Center engages with individuals of all ages. They inspire elementary and high school students, offer internships for undergraduate students who want to make a difference, and convene leaders in public policy, labor, and related fields to generate innovative solutions to social and economic issues. The Center's Board of Directors is comprised of labor specialists, historians, and heritage preservationists with extensive experience in Frances Perkins' areas of work.
They also oversee an annual awards program recognizing individuals who embody the values and ethics championed by Perkins. Discover the remarkable story of Frances Perkins and her transformative impact at the Frances Perkins Center
