The Franciscan Center, founded by the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany, is a retreat and spiritual center located in Tampa, Florida. With a rich history dating back to 1965, the center was established on an 8-acre property, generously donated by Joseph Miyares. Built in 1970, the center offers an oasis for private reflection, retreats, spiritual direction, and hospitality, welcoming people of all faith backgrounds.

The Franciscan Center is surrounded by natural beauty, situated along the Hillsborough River. It features various facilities, including the Sisters’ House, which offers programs and classes for women to enhance their spiritual lives, St. Elizabeth Convent, a retirement community for the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany, and Sabbath House, a charming building providing an intimate setting for small groups or individuals.
