Frankfurter Buchmesse is an international book fair and a major marketplace for printed and digital content, as well as a cultural meeting point. Held each October in Frankfurt, it brings together publishers, authors, literary agents, creative-industry professionals, journalists and readers from around the world to exchange ideas, build connections, negotiate rights and celebrate books. The 2026 edition is scheduled for 7–11 October, with Czechia as Guest of Honour.

The event serves both trade visitors and the general public. Its offerings include exhibitor stands and services, a directory of publishers and other organisations, public events, professional programmes, stages and an event calendar. Industry-focused services include Frankfurt Rights, rights meetings, the Publishers Rights Centre, the Literary Agents & Scouts Centre, book-to-screen networking and collective stands. The organisation also supports literary exchange through fellowships, grants, translation funding, masterclasses and professional networks. Visitors can access ticketing, travel and accessibility information, while exhibitors can find guidance on stand options, fair preparation and advertising. Frankfurter Buchmesse reported 4,350 exhibitors, 238,000 visitors and 3,500 events in 2025.
