About Museo Franz Mayer
Museo Franz Mayer is a non-profit institution that has dedicated itself to the preservation, research, and presentation of extensive collections of books, paintings, and decorative arts for the past 32 years. These collections represent the legacy of Franz Mayer, as well as other important collections such as the Ruth Lechuga Popular Art Collection and the William Spratling Collection. Located in a unique 16th-century building in the Historic Center of Mexico City, which was previously a hospital owned by the Order of St.
John of God until 1966, Museo Franz Mayer encourages innovation and creativity in society by conserving, investigating, and promoting art and design through its permanent collections and temporary programs.
