Gruppo Fratres "Sorriso" Ferla

Gruppo Fratres “Sorriso” Ferla is a volunteer association based in Ferla, in the province of Syracuse, Sicily. Its members bring together blood donors, volunteers, and local residents to support people in need and promote a culture of giving. The group encourages regular, responsible blood donation and works to engage younger generations through information, community events, and outreach.

For prospective donors, the association provides guidance on eligibility, explains the donation process, and shares collection dates through its calendar. Donations are preceded by a medical assessment and carried out with safety in mind; final eligibility is determined by healthcare staff. The group also organizes initiatives such as its annual Donor Day, combining blood collection with community activities and a service for donors.

People can contribute even if they do not donate blood, by volunteering, supporting awareness activities, or helping fund the association’s projects. The group offers information about Civil Service opportunities and ways to contribute through the five-per-thousand tax allocation or a direct donation.
