Forest Research Centre Sepilok is a Center of Excellence in Forestry Research located in Sandakan, Sabah. With a rich history dating back to 1842, the center is dedicated to generating knowledge and technology to support the conservation, management, development, and sustainable utilization of Sabah's forest resources.

The research at the Forest Research Centre is carried out under five programs, focusing on forest ecosystem management, biodiversity conservation, plantation silviculture, forest produce utilization, and socio-economic studies related to nature tourism and urban forestry. The center is home to more than 40 researchers and 246 supporting staff working in various fields related to forestry.

In addition to research, the center houses scientific reference collections, including a herbarium, insect museum, xylarium, freshwater fish collection, seed section, and herpetofauna collection. The Forest Research Centre Sepilok is committed to promoting sustainable forest management and contributing to the preservation of Sabah's valuable forest resources.
