The Fredericksburg Area Community Supported Agriculture Project (FACSAP) has been a pioneer in organic farming since its inception in 1995, establishing itself as the first Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Dedicated to offering organic and locally sourced produce, FACSAP connects members with farmers within a 100-mile radius, ensuring that their food is both fresh and sustainably grown. Each week, members receive a diverse harvest share, typically including six to eight types of seasonal produce, along with the option to enjoy local specialties such as organic honey and handmade soap.
FACSAP goes beyond providing food; it fosters community by creating connections among local farmers and members through shared resources and a vibrant online community. The Summer Share Harvest runs from June to October, offering 20 weeks of high-quality, organic produce. By supporting FACSAP, members directly contribute to the sustainability of local farms and the broader agricultural community, making a meaningful difference in food sourcing and community engagement.
