Fred McDavid

Fred McDavid is a backend software engineer, maker, and project builder whose work focuses on designing fast, stable, well-tested systems. He says he increasingly uses AI agents to build software more quickly, and shares writing on artificial intelligence and related topics through Framework Labs. His website serves as a home base for information about his work, projects, and businesses, with links to further resources.

Beyond software, Fred and his wife run Hoppin’ Fox Equestrian, a small horse-boarding business on their farm. They also operate Landmetrics, a residential real estate business that manages a handful of rental properties. Fred’s hands-on interests include building fences, restoring old farm structures for practical use, and maintaining trails for the farm’s boarders to ride. He also enjoys attending nearby concerts and brewing beer when time permits.

Together, Fred’s technology work, writing, and small-business activities reflect a practical, multidisciplinary approach to building and maintaining things, from dependable software systems to farm structures and business operations.
