Free-Internet.name is an online directory designed to help people find free internet access and Wi-Fi around the world. The site organizes listings by country and, for the United States, by state, making it easier for visitors to search for available options in a particular location. It reports a directory of 21,156 free Wi-Fi hotspots and 394 internet service providers, and includes user comments, ratings, and maps to support comparison and discovery.

Alongside public Wi-Fi listings, the site highlights internet providers, including services described as free or low-cost. Its information explains that some free providers may display advertisements, offer slower basic connections, or charge for technical support, while paid upgrades may be available for faster service. The directory also features provider names such as NetZero, MyFreeWireless, Dialup For Free, BudgetDialup, and Juno. Visitors can browse the listings by selecting a country, and can explore location-based options through the site’s country and state menus. Overall, Free-Internet.name serves as a searchable resource for people seeking alternatives to paying standard internet rates.
