Freeride Filmbase

Freeride Filmbase is an annual celebration of Innsbruck’s freeride film scene, bringing local and international filmmakers and athletes together at Metropol Kino. Its 10th anniversary edition takes place from November 5 to 7, 2026, in the cinema’s largest auditorium in western Austria. The festival presents new films that showcase the range and creativity of a community rooted in Innsbruck, widely described by the organizers as a leading global center for freeride filmmaking.

Alongside its film screenings, Freeride Filmbase offers talks and presentations on mountain safety, avalanche awareness, and group dynamics, delivered with partners including Freeride Academy Innsbruck and SAAC. The 2026 program features stories from skiing and snowboarding destinations around the world, exploring adventure, friendship, identity, risk, resilience, and the changing conditions of winter. Screenings include appearances by filmmakers and athletes, offering audiences the chance to hear directly from the people behind the films. Tickets are available through Metropol Kino’s website or at the cinema box office, with reduced prices for students and eligible cardholders.
