Freeride Madeira is a mountain biking tour and rental company based in Funchal, Madeira, run by local riders, guides and trail builders. With more than 10 years of experience, the team offers guided rides, bike rentals and tailored cycling holidays, combining local knowledge with a focus on safe, enjoyable trail experiences. Tours include van-assisted enduro, e-MTB, cross-country and road cycling, with routes planned around weather, trail conditions and participants’ experience. The rental fleet includes enduro, electric, cross-country, all-mountain and road bikes, maintained by an on-site mechanic. Holiday packages can include accommodation and airport transfers.

The company also builds and maintains a network of more than 200 kilometres of singletrack. It says it reinvests 20% of annual income in full-time trail builders and works with Funchal’s Ecological Park to plant more than 500 trees each year in fire-affected areas. Freeride Madeira has helped organise mountain biking events, including Enduro World Series rounds in 2017 and 2019, and the multi-day Trans Madeira race.
