The Freeszfe Egyesület is an autonomous creative space dedicated to upholding the 155-year-old traditions of the University of Theatre and Film Arts. Our goal is to provide a platform for those who refuse to tolerate the lack of dialogue and the suppression of artistic freedom. The members of our association, including past and present students, teachers, and staff of the University, collaborate to create freely and without constraints.

We have established a space for the creation of theater plays, films, novellas, visual designs, and other artistic works that pay homage to the rich heritage of the SZFE. As circumstances permit, we also aim to showcase these works to the general public, creating a community where everyone can experience the wonders of free artistic expression. Additionally, we conduct educational activities through the Emergency Exit program, which allows international recognition of the teaching conducted at the Freeszfe Egyesület, providing a refuge for students and teachers who do not have access to academic freedom and autonomous creative work within the SZFE due to recent changes.

Starting next fall, we will also be offering new courses. Looking towards the future, our vision for the Freeszfe Egyesület involves admitting new students and instructors, as well as finding and furnishing a suitable space for our activities. We imagine a communal creative workshop where we can not only learn but also showcase everything that makes us proud.

Of course, this will be done with the active involvement of our supporting community. To fulfill our goals, we are in need of assistance. Currently, the members of our association are working tirelessly without any form of compensation, teaching, administering, planning, and organizing.
