Freie Narren Dettenhausen e.V. is a carnival and community association based in Dettenhausen, founded in 1996. Its origins lie in the creation of a masked group that would make Fasnet celebrations accessible to families with children. The founding members joined with the existing Gerstenhexen, and the Ranzabuffer group made its first public appearance in January 1997. Today, the association brings together several local carnival figures, including the Ranzabuffer and Gerschdakend, and shares information about their traditions and activities.
The club’s calendar includes events during Fasnet as well as activities throughout the rest of the year. It has contributed to village life by organizing the annual May Day gathering, now held in and around its Vereinsheim, the Narrhalla. The association’s website provides details about its figures, clubhouse, history, leadership, and upcoming events, alongside a gallery and social media links. Visitors can also find information about joining the club, membership rules, contact details, and an online shop.
