About Freiheit Für Tiere
Freiheit für Tiere is an animal-welfare magazine published by DAS BRENNGLAS, a nonprofit publisher established in 2001. First released in 2002, the quarterly magazine has covered the lives and protection of companion animals, farmed animals, animals used in experiments, and wildlife. Its reporting and features address animal rights, science, ethics, law, nature, hunting, vegan food and health, and practical ways to live compassionately with animals.
The publication also includes animal portraits, interviews, news, and articles about campaigns and international developments. DAS BRENNGLAS offers magazine issues, books, brochures, DVDs, and other materials through its online shop, alongside resources such as downloadable brochures and music. The 2026 issue is the magazine’s 100th and final printed edition; the publisher announced that it will be dissolved at the end of the year.
It also invites readers to support animal-focused work and highlights related initiatives, including animal sanctuaries and the nonprofit association Heimat für Tiere e. V
