Freiraum is a paragliding school based in Ruhpolding, in Germany’s Chiemgau region, offering training and flying experiences for beginners and experienced pilots. The school combines instruction in a scenic Bavarian flying area with small groups, personal support and modern equipment, with an emphasis on effective training and safety. Its programs include introductory sessions, A-license ground and mountain training, compact courses, and conversion training for hang-glider pilots.

Further development options cover launch and landing practice, thermalling, cross-country flying, flight technique, theory and personal one-to-one coaching. Freiraum also organizes flying trips and alpine tours in destinations including the Pyrenees, Spain, Slovenia and Meduno, alongside Hike & Fly activities and special events. Tandem offerings range from introductory and classic flights to thermalling and adrenaline-focused experiences; the school also provides tandem-pilot training and further education.

Led by Achim Joos and an experienced instructor team, Freiraum says it has received multiple top-flight-school awards in a German Hang Gliding Association survey. The company also offers paragliding equipment and related services
