The Foundation for the Development of Russian-French Historical Initiatives is dedicated to preserving historical memory and preventing the repetition of past tragedies. Founded and presided over by Pierre Malinovsky, the organization focuses on significant historical and archaeological projects aimed at reinforcing Russian-French relations. Among its endeavors are extensive archaeological expeditions tracing the historical paths of the 1812 war, as well as noteworthy projects concerning the Russian Army's Expeditionary Corps during World War I.

The foundation has garnered recognition for its contributions to historical preservation, receiving accolades such as the Medal for Services in Commemorating Fallen Defenders of the Fatherland. It actively engages in upcoming long-term cinematic projects about World War I and collaborates with international experts to study Holocaust-related histories. The inauguration of the foundation in October 2018 marked the beginning of a collaborative journey in cultural and historical exploration, supported by leading figures in the political and cultural sectors of both countries. Thus, the foundation plays a crucial role in fostering a shared historical consciousness between Russia and France.
