About Acción Ciudadana Frente a la Pobreza
Acción Ciudadana Frente a la Pobreza is an initiative created by over 60 Mexican civil society organizations to proactively address inequality and poverty in Mexico. Their goal is to bring about systemic changes in institutions and policies related to the causes of poverty and inequality. They tackle chronic and endemic poverty caused by marginalization and exclusion, which perpetuates through the inequality of opportunities and is inherited by the next generation.
Recognizing that work is a human right, the organization focuses on fighting for dignified work and advocating for labor rights, as the systematic violation of these rights is one of the main causes of poverty in Mexico. They also address issues such as low wages, lack of access to healthcare and social security, and the importance of inclusive economies. With a rights-based approach, they aim to promote sustainable and inclusive development for all.
