Fricke & Dannhus, also known as HD Yachtbau, is a boatbuilding company based at Lake Dümmer in Germany. Founded in 1897, the shipyard combines traditional craftsmanship with modern boatbuilding technologies and materials, including expertise in both wooden construction and plastic boatbuilding. Its range includes custom-built boats, classic-style daysailers, retro designs, 15- and 20-square-metre sailing dinghy cruisers, and electric boats. Customers can also commission bespoke vessels designed to their own specifications.
Beyond new construction, Fricke & Dannhus provides boat conversions, refits and restorations, with a particular focus on classic wooden boats. The company also offers winter storage and sells used boats and equipment. Its sailing and leisure store in Lembruch serves water sports enthusiasts with marine equipment, ropes, paints and protective coatings, sailing clothing and footwear, fishing accessories, hunting apparel and casual wear. Store staff provide in-person advice, and products are also available by post. Through its shipyard and retail store, Fricke & Dannhus supports customers across boat ownership, maintenance and leisure on the water.
