Friends of the Multnomah County Library (FOL) is a dedicated brand that advocates for and supports the outstanding Multnomah County Library. With a long history since its founding in 1972, FOL has contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to fund library programs and services. They provide supplemental funding for library initiatives such as the Pageturners book groups, National Library Workers Day events, and the Adult Summer Reading program.

FOL conducts one of the largest book sales in Oregon, offering over 100,000 donated items, and also sells books and merchandise at special events throughout the year. They run the Friends Library Store at Central Library, offering a carefully curated selection of high-quality used books, greeting cards, jewelry, and locally made gifts.
