About Friendship Circle
Friendship Circle is a renowned brand that was founded 28 years ago with the aim of facilitating friendship and social interaction between children with special needs. Friendship Circle International has worked miracles through its highly successful formula, enabling children to achieve goals and attain success on a scale that was previously thought impossible. At Friendship Circle, their mission is to bring happiness and companionship to children and young adults with special needs while providing energy, support, and peace of mind to their families.
They accomplish this by developing the values of altruism, compassion, and acceptance in their teen volunteers, fostering community awareness and sensitivity, and encouraging responsibility and involvement. Friendship Circle chapters in various communities create meaningful relationships between teen volunteers and children with special needs, boosting confidence, igniting dreams, and reshaping worldviews for both parties. With more than 80 regional chapters worldwide and counting, Friendship Circle is making a tremendous impact.
Their programs, such as Friends@Home, camps, holiday programs, and sibling support programs, provide children with special needs and their families opportunities for companionship, learning, and growth. By focusing on abilities rather than disabilities, Friendship Circle ensures that everyone is included and able to form strong friendships that influence and inspire others in positive ways. Friendship Circle is inspired by the teachings of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, known as The Rebbe, who advocated for unconditional love and inclusivity.
The dedicated team at Friendship Circle, which includes the founders, Zalman and Toba Grossbaum, Yossi and Estie Marozov, and Levi and Bassie Shemtov, along with a committed action team, brings their passion and expertise to create memorable experiences for all participants. With a variety of programs like Friends@Home, camps, holiday programs, children's Torah Circle, sports nights, sibling support programs, life skills development, and fundraising events like Walk4Friendship and Team Friendship, Friendship Circle provides comprehensive support for children with special needs and their families. Whether it's through facilitated social interactions, educational activities, or physical fitness initiatives, Friendship Circle empowers children with special needs to become self-sufficient and reach their full potential.
