About The Friendship Center
The Friendship Center (TFC) is a vital nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering hope and dignity within Chicago's northwest side communities, including Albany Park, Lincoln Square, North Park, Ravenswood, and West Ridge. Established in 1969, TFC focuses on combating food insecurity by offering free, healthful groceries and hot meals to over 4,500 neighbors each month. As a full-choice pantry, TFC provides four days a week shopping access, home delivery services, and a dedicated pet food pantry.
In addition to emergency food assistance, TFC supports individuals in navigating SNAP and Medicaid applications, along with referrals to essential community services such as job training, counseling, and health coverage. Partnering with the Greater Chicago Food Depository and the Feeding America network, TFC actively addresses the broader needs of the community, ensuring equitable access for all, regardless of background. Donations are tax-deductible, facilitating ongoing support for this critical service. TFC stands as a beacon of hope for those facing challenges in the community.
