Aviva plc is a renowned brand committed to restoring and protecting the natural wonders of the UK. One such wonder that often goes unnoticed is the temperate rainforests, once sprawling across the coasts of Cornwall to Scotland but now covering less than 1% of the British Isles. Aviva recognizes the urgent need to revive these lost habitats and is collaborating with the Wildlife Trusts to bring them back.

The brand has donated a generous £38 million to support the restoration efforts of temperate rainforests. These rainforests play a crucial role in combatting climate change by sequestering carbon dioxide, purifying water, and providing resilience against flooding and erosion. Aviva has set an ambitious climate goal, aiming to achieve Net Zero by 2040, a decade ahead of the UK government's target.

To contribute to this goal, Aviva has committed to investing £100 million in nature-based solutions, with £38 million dedicated to the restoration of the rainforests. The restoration program, expected to remove around 800,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, will create a significant net reduction in atmospheric carbon levels from 2036 onwards. Aviva's dedication to this cause extends beyond carbon reduction; it also aims to enhance biodiversity and preserve these forests for future generations to enjoy.

By creating new nature reserves across the west of the UK, Aviva seeks to ensure that these ancient remnants remain a lasting gift to the natural world
