About Friends of Inharrime
Friends of Inharrime collaborates with Casa Laura Vicuña, established by the Salesian sisters in Inharrime in 2004. Casa Laura Vicuña offers vital services to the local community, including housing for 72 girls aged three and up in an orphanage, as well as government-run primary and secondary schools (1st to 12th grade). They conduct literacy classes for women and provide educational and nutritional assistance to underprivileged children.
Friends of Inharrime has supported Casa Laura Vicuña since 2009 by developing community programs and raising awareness in the U. S. about Mozambique's situations.
Co-founded by Mary and Matthew Rysavy, who have firsthand experience in supporting local initiatives, the organization is transparent and efficient, with 0% overheads according to Guidestar. Every donation to Friends of Inharrime directly aids the children and families in Inharrime, making a tangible impact on their lives
