Friends of the Environment (FOTE) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the re-greening of Zimbabwe through tree planting. Established in November 2010, FOTE was created by Nyaradzo Group, who started planting a tree with every burial they undertook in July 2010. FOTE is governed by a Board of Trustees and collaborates with the Ministry of Environment, Water and Climate, as well as other affiliated organizations such as the Forestry Commission and Environment Management Agency (EMA).

The vision of FOTE is to lead in re-greening the environment, while their mission focuses on promoting environmental conservation through awareness, establishing nurseries, and tree planting with various stakeholders. The organization values stewardship, transparency, diligence, respect, and teamwork. Their target is to plant a minimum of 500 million trees by 2026 in Zimbabwe and beyond.

Deforestation has become a significant issue globally, and Zimbabwe is no exception. FOTE aims to address this ecological tragedy by combating deforestation, preserving biodiversity, and restoring the balance of ecosystems. Their efforts include engaging in reforestation, as well as establishing nurseries in schools throughout the country.

FOTE's ultimate goal is to create a green revolution that extends beyond Zimbabwe and into the entire SADC region. Through their proactive tree planting initiatives, FOTE aims to make a positive impact on the environment and combat the climate change crisis
