Friends On Hill is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Bozeman, Montana, working to make skiing and snowboarding more accessible while building stronger community connections. Its mission combines winter-sports education with a welcoming, social approach, emphasizing safety, mountain etiquette, and skill development. Through its Community Learn To Ride Program, the organization offers adults who lack the financial means a chance to learn to ski or snowboard free of charge. Participants stay with the same learning group throughout the program, sharing an experience designed to encourage confidence, perseverance, and lasting friendships.
Friends On Hill also hosts free Community Ride Days at Bridger Bowl, where people of all experience levels can meet others and enjoy time on the mountain. Attendees need a valid Bridger Bowl lift ticket or season pass; there are no additional event fees or sign-ups. Beyond winter activities, the nonprofit has organized community gatherings such as summer kickball and offers mental health check-ins.
