FrivilligVest

FrivilligVest is the volunteer centre and self-help centre serving the Ringkøbing-Skjern municipality in Denmark. Founded in 2017, it works to strengthen volunteering, wellbeing and community connections. The organisation builds bridges between associations, institutions, volunteers, coordinators, local government and other community partners. It helps associations find volunteers and connects people who want to volunteer with suitable organisations and activities.

FrivilligVest offers practical support for associations, including guidance on fundraising, insurance, recruitment, data protection, project development, collaboration and starting or closing an association. Its self-help and wellbeing services include support groups for adults, children and young people, with groups addressing specific needs such as autism. The centre also develops community projects and organises activities, while providing resources such as a shared events calendar and equipment bank.

Based at Smedenes Hus in Lem, FrivilligVest welcomes residents and local groups seeking advice, companionship or ways to contribute. It works in partnership with Ringkøbing-Skjern Municipality and is part of FriSe, Denmark’s national umbrella organisation for volunteer and self-help centres.
