Frobeniusfonden

Frobeniusfonden is a Danish foundation dedicated to supporting charitable and other public-benefit purposes, particularly in the arts, sciences and education for young people. Its work includes grants and recognition for people and initiatives that contribute to cultural and educational life. A prominent part of the foundation’s activities is Frobeniusfondens Store Pris, an award presented to artists whose work has made a significant contribution.

In 2026, the foundation’s major prize of DKK 250,000 is awarded to Hanne Kuhlmann, organist at Copenhagen Cathedral since 2012. The award recognises her internationally accomplished performance career, her connection to Danish church music traditions and her broad repertoire, spanning classical works and contemporary experimental compositions. The foundation also makes other awards and publishes information about recipients, its distribution criteria, board and leadership.
