Frohlich Lab

The Frohlich Lab and Carolina Center for Neurostimulation conduct interdisciplinary research into brain dynamics, behavior, and new approaches to psychiatric and neurological disorders. Their work connects preclinical and clinical research to investigate how neural networks function and how that knowledge can inform better care. The team uses electrophysiology, brain imaging, noninvasive brain stimulation, cognitive testing, computational modeling, machine learning, and clinical-trial methods. Current research includes studies exploring noninvasive brain stimulation for symptoms of depression, with information available for people interested in participation and eligibility.

The lab also offers opportunities for students and researchers to contribute to neuroscience projects, although it notes that undergraduate research assistant positions are not currently available. Its stated priorities include scientific integrity, strong mentorship, innovation, collaboration, and a supportive workplace. Supported by public and private research funders, the lab welcomes contributions to advance brain research, train future scientists, and expand access to neurotechnology. Through its research, studies, educational opportunities, and community support, the Frohlich Lab aims to develop insights and treatments that improve mental health and neurological care.
