About Frontier Village
Frontier Village is a seasonal historic attraction in Jamestown, North Dakota, where visitors can explore a preserved pioneer town and encounter landmarks, exhibits, and family-friendly activities. Located at 404 17th Street SE, the village is open daily from Memorial Day weekend through mid-September, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free, and donations are encouraged to help support the site.
The village features a broad collection of historic-style buildings and displays, including a town hall, train depot, post office, blacksmith shop, schoolhouse, church, general store, jail, and Louis L’Amour Writer’s Shack. Visitors can also browse vendor spaces, see trains and historic vehicles, and enjoy a playground. Pony rides and stagecoach rides are available; stagecoach rides operate Thursday through Sunday and cost $10 per rider, with family rates available.
The World’s Largest Buffalo stands at the end of the village lane, about two city blocks from the entrance towers. Campers and trailers are welcome, with a nearby turnaround and parking area.
