About FRSC
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) is Nigeria’s road-safety organization, established by the Federal Government in February 1988 and later formalized by legislation. For more than three decades, it has worked to create a safer motoring environment and reduce road crashes through enforcement, education, and emergency response. Its mission is to protect lives and improve safety for everyone using Nigerian roads.
FRSC provides services and information for drivers, vehicle owners, and the public. Its offerings include driver’s licence applications and renewals, vehicle registration and documentation, and public education, training, and awareness programmes. The organization also shares guidance on traffic offences and penalties, publishes strategic goals and other materials, and provides channels for reporting incidents and accessing online services. Through public enlightenment videos, news and articles, and National Traffic Radio, including a live 107.1 FM Abuja stream, FRSC encourages safer road habits and keeps road users informed. It also offers an FRSC mobile app for download and invites individuals and organizations to support its efforts to build a stronger road-safety culture across Nigeria.
