About FSO-HSW
The Family Support Organization of Hunterdon, Somerset & Warren Counties (FSO-HSW) is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to providing direct support to family members and caregivers of children with special emotional and behavioral needs. As a partner within New Jersey's Division of Children's System of Care, the FSO-HSW is committed to helping children with complex mental health challenges. Founded in the late 90s, the organization recognized the flaws in the existing system and approached the State of New Jersey with a plan for reform.
With the guidance of Governor Christie Whitman, the Children's System of Care Initiative was launched, aiming to create a system focused on family strengths and community resources. The FSO-HSW offers a range of programs and services that promote a system of care philosophy. By working in partnership with families and youth, they design effective mental health services that address each person's unique needs and cultural backgrounds.
The organization's approach recognizes the importance of family, school, and community in helping children and youth fulfill their full potential. With a dedicated team of staff and a compassionate board of directors, the FSO-HSW is dedicated to providing a brighter, healthier future for children and families in Hunterdon, Somerset, and Warren Counties
