The Binational Fulbright Commission in Egypt is the oldest and largest Fulbright program in the Arab world. Established in 1949, it was created through a protocol between the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the U. S.

State Department. With a mandate to cultivate mutual understanding through educational exchange, the Commission has sent nearly 8,000 scholars from both Egypt and the United States to study and conduct research abroad. Their programs cater to a wide range of participants, including students, scholars, and professionals.

They offer grants for master's degrees, PhDs, joint supervision, and post-doctoral research, as well as programs in applied, fine, and performing arts, Islamic studies, and arts management. Additionally, they have programs specifically designed for Americans, including scholar grants and the Community College Initiative.
